Identification of Kennebec Canoe

Last summer at the Assembly, I purchased a canoe the owner believed to be a 1910-1912 Kennebec Kino or K Special. I have been stripping the fiberglass and epoxy that covered the inside and outside of the hull. The stems appear to have been replaced, so there are no model numbers visible. The decks and wales have also been redone. There are modifications, with a mast mount and step being added. Stripping the canoe has, however, revealed some clues to its identity:

OAL: 16'10" Width: 35" Depth: 12.25" Full 3/4" stem bands

28" long mahogany decks Ribs: 3/8" x 2" nontapered rounded edges Full closed mahogany wales

I have attached some photos. Hopefully, someone can confirm or aid in the identification of the canoe. I also have some questions about proper appearance, as I am not familiar with Kennebec.

I can give you some information from the Kennebec catalogs (available on CD from the WCHA Store), regarding the Kineo and K Special models. The featured canoe of this year's (2016) Annual Assembly is Kennebec, and you may want to consider attending and bringing this canoe.

The seats, thwart, and un-tapered ribs do not look like Kennebec to me. The caps and outwales are not likely original. I doubt that the stems have been replaced.

This canoe appears to me to be an open gunnel canoe with caps added when fiberglassed. To me, the thwart and seat suggest Thompson, Racine, or some other Wis. based company.
