I know its not a canoe but...

Canoe Dude
I was looking at 1940's wooden snipe sailer today, and during conversation the seller mentioned he had a weird old OT wood and canvas canoe hanging in the shed. Turns out its about 14 1/2 feet in length, 4 foot beam, square stern boat. She has a planked deck, full keel, motor marks on the sloped transom and....a canvased hull. Really nice floor boards, double oarlocks, excellent condition other that the forward keel canvas where its been worn and subsequently torn. There are the remnants of a 1960'sish? OT decal on the forward coaming. It's still hanging, but I was able to get a really good look at the inner stems and I don't see any numbers. I'm guessing numbers would be elsewhere and if so, where should we be looking?
We plan on taking it down next week and get a good look at it.

Hi Hummy-- Try the top edge of the transom or on the transom brace. Nice boat, deserving of a new life.

Thanx! We're going to get together next week and take it out in the daylight to get a good look...

Maybe

Looks like my 14' sport boat.
