I have another one for you

Curious about Wooden Canoes
I'm hoping you can check another boat for me. It's an old town and it's serial number is 82098 17.

This one is pretty rough, but not impossible I don't think. The biggest issue is that someone apparently decided that it was just easier to cut the gunwhales off the boast taking the tops of all the ribs with them. My buddy has the replacement gunwhales and deck pieces that came with the boat.

We're thinking of replacing those ribs that need replacing... looks 4 or 5 and then scarfing new ends on the rest. Am I missing something in doing that?

Thanks for your assistance

Thanks Benson,
Is there a way I can search the threads to find information like that rather than bother you with a post. I tried a search yesterday, but came up blank. I have a couple more boats that I'm sort of looking at. Seems once they found out that I took this one, others are asking if I'd be interested in what they have.

Yes, I found this one by entering the serial number in the small white search box on the upper right corner of this screen next to the magnifying glass symbol. I omit the two length digits in case those weren't specified before. Please reply here if this doesn't work for you. Thanks,

Benson

Geez... that worked fine... I must've just entered the wrong number... thanks again for the link and the advice on at least checking first before asking for a serial number check.
