Curious about Wooden Canoes
Well, I found another canoe in less than a week. I would like to get info on it. There is a plaque on the bow that is from Old Town Canoe. I cannot find any serial number. Could this canoe be from another maker? Where would numbers be if from another maker? The canoe is 15ft long. What would this model be called if not an Old Town?
Thank you in advance for your help.

This clearly isn't an Old Town but might be a Kennebec. They made a "Baby-Boy" that was similar as shown on page 10 of the catalog at https://woodencanoemuseum.org/index.php/manufacturer-catalog/kennebec-1928 from 1928. Many Kennebec boats and canoes had their serial numbers on metal deck plates which often go missing. Skowhegan and others also made similar boats. It might have been a canoe originally that had the square end added. Good luck with the project,

Benson

You guys know your canoes . Benson i think you are right the stern is plywood and there's no half ribs like the ad said . They must have cut off the stern to add a motor .
