Help with ID

I just purchased this canoe and need help Id'ing it. I can't find any stamped numbers. It is 16" long and the beam is 32" . Please see picture.

My guess would be a Thompson based on the deck shape. Does it look like the decks are original? Is there a metal strap under the deck? Can you provide a picture of the planking pattern near the ends?

Thank you Benson. After more research, I think your right. Please see the attached photos. The length, beam, depth, planking width and spacing all match a 16' Thompson Indian. Plus the fact that I'm located in Green Bay, WI an 1 hour south of the old Thompson factory in Peshtigo , WI

Benson’s guess of Thompson is a good one and may be true, based on the proximity to where Thompson Canoes were built. However, I don’t see the ogee deck pattern. It looks kinda like Penn Yan to me from this one photo. If it is a Penn Yan, there will be letters and numbers on both stems.

Those stems may have numbers (and letters if it is a Penn Yan). The suggestions at https://www.wcha.org/forums/index.php?threads/791/ might help, along with some varnish remover. Good luck,

Ya, I'm not so sure about T either, I'll throw Mullins into the ring.
