Help with canoe identification or what is it???

Curious about Wooden Canoes
17' long, I can't see any s/n or name anywhere... Any help on this one..?? Needs some gunnel work but overall not too bad... Thanks in advance!! The gunnel caps fit the contour of a Morris but that's not what this is. Can't find any S/N or name unless it was once on a decal...

Where was the canoe found? The presence of a shoe keel suggest Canadian origins...

Hi, So far the most likely maker seems to be JR Williams out of Kennebunkport where the canoe was found not very far from the Bush Compound at Walker's Point...

J.R. Williams, canoes and boats 1897-1918 Kennebunkport seems to be the winner. The bow seat has a unique to the builder feature of easy removal in seconds if so desired and the ghost of the builder's name tag has been located on the short thwart in front of the bow seat.......
