Thanks to both of you who have responded. I bought the book on Monday. Just waiting for it to arrive. Yah.. I'll get better photos. I've taken a hard look at it and I do feel at this point I'm 75% leaning toward Caleb Chase, or family members. An expert I talked to said that a few of his family members also build a small number of boats. From what I've read and seen, the stem is right, the deck is right, the number of planks (or are they called strakes) is 8. The ore lock side plate exactly match the Queen Ann. I've also examined the ribs at the ends and compared with photos of a Caleb Chase guide boat. As far as I can tell, they also match. I'm a visual artist and have a very sharp eye for proportions, etc., so I don't think I'm wrong about these factors. It's just a matter of whether those are distinguishing factors or not. This is fascinating stuff!
