It is 16 Feet long with a stamped serial number of 717016 no spaces. It also has a partial logo. Dark navy blue bordering creme with the lettering on the creme color being navy blue as well. The only section that is legible says ____ville and is near the bottom right. Assuming this is the last half of the place of manufacture. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

There are some Kennebec decals shown at http://forums.wcha.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=20789&d=1334626670 and http://dragonflycanoe.com/wood-canoe-identification-guide/features-builders-plates-and-decals/ for comparison. The bad news is that the Kennebec records don't show serial numbers 7170 or 717016. They skip from 7099 to 8000 in 1912 and from 104025 to 800000 between 1931 and 1932.
Can you confirm the length and indicate which digit is the least clear? It may help to review the information at http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?791 and check the numbers in each end. The last two digits usually show the length of the canoe in feet. Pictures of your canoe and the serial numbers may also help. Thanks,

Thanks guys. The actual length is 15'6 it is 33 1/2'' at the center of the gunwhales. The center yoke is directly in the middle and there is only one other which is located on the stern end. All the numbers on the serial number are very clear. It is not carved into the wood or a depression made in the wood at all. The serial number is just a ink like stamp. Will post some pictures if I can figure out how. The Kennebec decals don't match.
