The scanned records go just over 250,000 around 1984 so you are in luck. The Old Town canoe with serial number 201136 is a 14 foot long, Chipewyan model that weighed 57 pounds. It was built in April, 1974. The original exterior vinyl color was dark green. It shipped on May 43rd, 1974 to Great Neck, New York.
The Old Town canoe with serial number 213049 is a 17 foot long, Chipewyan model with aluminum inserts in the rails that weighed 76 pounds. It was built in March, 1976. The original exterior vinyl color was green. It shipped on March 29th, 1976 to Washington Depot, Connecticut. The back side of the scan indicates that it had some scratches and scuffs on the outside. It was purchased on August 16th, 1976 and moved to Lakeside, Connecticut.
Scans showing both of these build records can be found below. These scans and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at
http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will donate, join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See
http://www.wcha.org/about-wcha to learn more about the WCHA and
http://www.wcha.org/store/membership to renew.
It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if these descriptions don't match the canoes. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
