The Old Town canoe with serial number 90913 (given in the CL ad) is shown 25 feet long, CS (common sense) grade, war model, with western red cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, 30” birch decks, birch seats and thwarts, and fitted with outside stems, a keel and a floor rack. The canoe was built in 1926, being finished on June 10, 1926. The original exterior paint color was “w red.” It was shipped to Athol, Mass. June 12, 1926. This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at
