Epoxy or varnish over automotive paint?

Hi all,

New to the site.

I just completed a paddleboard. However, I painted the board with Rust-oleum enamel automotive paint with 2 coats of clear coat.

I now want to put either epoxy or varnish on top of the paint.

Could someone suggest either epoxy or varnish to the automotive paint and clear coat to get a water resistant finish?

Did you know that auto paint with a clear coat finish is about as water proof finish as you can get, as well as providing maximum UV protection?

Think about it; what happens to your car when it gets wet or sits out in the sun forever?

You don't need to do anything.

Epoxy will be ruined by ultraviolet from the sun. It must be protected by several coats of UV-resistant varnish. The boat will gain weight quickly with more and more coats of finish.
