E-Bay Kennebec

This e-bay (re)listing is about 10 miles from me. I have no interest in acquiring it. I can go look at it if anybody else is serious about purchasing it. The seller told me that the reserve was $2800, but that was on the first go-round. Being relisted may mean he has lowered the reserve, as well.

Its a good looking canoe....there is another Kennebec sailing canoe on Craigslist.. If I had a couple extra grand lying around....just maybe.

The one in Wisconsin with serial number 50286 was actually built in 1925 and shipped in 1928 as a Morris B model, type A4 according to the Kennebec records. The leeboards appear to be the Kennebec style and the rudder is an Old Town style.

The one in New Hampshire looks like serial number 17270 which was built and shipped in 1923 as a Kennebec model, type A according to the Kennebec records. The entire sail rig appears to be the Old Town style.

Kennebec built Morris models? I think I remember Dan Miller having a Mor-Bec, but it had a splayed stem I think.....?

Kennebec built Morris models?

The Kennebec records indicate that they built 291 of them in 1924 and 1925 with serial numbers in the 50,000 range. There were a total of 157 A models and 134 B models. The thread at http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?t=3995 shows some other Kennebec models with Morris stems.

The stem on the e-bay canoe near me appears to be straight. I'll assume it is a Ken-mor, not a Mor-Bec.
