Please disregard my previous post. Below are the final, actual, correct dates for Salt Fork. This looks like a great place. I’m looking forward to seeing you all there on August 15 and 16.

Salt Fork State Park Outing - August 15-16



Craig and Diane have rented a cabin at Salt Fork State Park for Friday and Saturday night, August 15 and 16. For those who might wish to come early, options include a room at the lodge, camping, and possibly cabins if still available.

Friday, 8/15


Arrival. Join Craig and family paddling on the lake.



Saturday paddle and picnic, 8/16

  • 10 AM SHARP - meet for unloading at the parking lot where County Road 851 (Freedom Road) crosses the tip of the northwest fork of the lake (see map).
  • Unload and shuttle vehicles to Hosak’s cave
  • 11 AM paddle to Stonehouse Museum
  • 12:30 PM - picnic at Stonehouse Museum. Picnic provided; feel free to bring extra goodies.
  • 1:30 PM - tour Stonehouse Museum
  • Explore, then take out at Hosak’s cave
  • Coffee at Craig’s cabin. Feel free to bring dessert.
  • Evening campfire.
 
Hi guys, I just checked availability. There are rooms in the lodge, cabins still available, and numerous campsites too. So far, Scott and Patty are camping in Loop F, I'm tenting in the Primitive Campground, and Millie is undecided.
