Is this something to worry about? Can get away with cleaning out and Apoxy

This will probably be fine. It shouldn't be difficult to make or find another if it breaks.

Filling it with epoxy will cause further cracking. If the wood swells the epoxy will act like a wedge. Think leaving it alone is the best idea.
