Chestnut canoe paddles

Curious about Wooden Canoes
I recently bought a cedar strip boat that was stored in a garage since the 60's and these were inside. I don't think they go with the boat. One is 60" the other 57" the paint and finish is original as the logo is put top of the paint. The question is are they unique? Do they have any value?

There are many here who know more about Chestnut than me but my guess is that these paddles are not unique. You should be able to easily sell them if your price is reasonable. The information about the changes in these decals over the years at http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.php?11484 might interest you. Similar vintage Old Town paddles with decals have each been recently selling in the $60 to $125 range on eBay. A small crossed Old Town paddle decoration with some nice decals sold a few days ago at http://www.ebay.com/itm/380838597994 for over $527. Good luck and please reply here if you have any other questions,

Benson

Look like Peterborough made paddles, really neat history on the machine but rather than mis quote will let Dick give the brief history if he will jump in.
