CE Wells information?

Looking for info on this CE Wells. I acquired this canoe over 20 years ago while in Canton, NY. Now, my son and are going to restore it and want to see what is known about it.

Thread 'Ruston 15" Indian Girl'

I recently became the guardian of a Ruston 15" Indian Girl. Definitive markings include "JH Ruston, Canton NY" on one stem. Serial # 1323 clearly stamped in each stem. C.E. Wells Builder Canton NY on one thwart. And "Trade INDIAN GIRL Mark on the other thwart.

Any information about this canoe will be greatly appreciated!

It would be interesting to post the length of the canoe and its serial number. It has all of the typical Rushton style features, but it is somewhat unique (for a Wells) in that it has the less common style of longer decks.
That should be a nice canoe when restored. Presumably the rails and decks are cherry?

Measures 16 ft long. 34" at the widest. Correct on cherry decks and rails. Decks are 24" long. No serial numbers found yet. We are guessing Indian Girl?
