LOVES Wooden Canoes
i have some glass slides of a canoe trip.i want to get them developed but having a hard time finding a place to do it, some really nice photos. any ideas where in or around boston i can get some photos made out of these

Sounds neat - I'd love to see 'em, and applaud that you're taking the time to rescue them.

I don't live anywhere near Boston, but did a quick search and found these guys: http://www.picturerenewal.com/index.html
They scan, retouch and print old photos, might be worth letting them shoot you a quote. Then again, your glass negs may be even older than what they're used to... but anybody with a really good flatbed scanner *should* be able to capture a sharp scan of them, and from there lots more places could print up the TIF, Jpeg, or whatever file format it becomes at that point.

Good luck, and share them with us once they're rescued, if you don't mind!

I have had good luck just putting glass slides and other old photos in an ordinary scanner and then using a negative setting to reverse the black and white. Do you have a scanner or know anyone else who does? A transparency adapter with a lighted back can also help if they are unusually dark. I have an assortment of this equipment and may be able to help if you don't have too many images to scan. Send me a private message if you want my mailing address or other details.

Sweetwater - I think that Paradise Photo and Video, 30 Washington St in Natick, MA could probably help you here. Their phone is 508-655-9288. Good luck. Al D
