Trying to ID a canoe I’m looking at purchasing. Suspected to be a Chestnut but unsure, thought to be from 1940, possibly earlier. If it’s a Chestnut I’m wondering if it’s a Guide, or maybe a Prospector, although it seems too narrow for that, but maybe not deep enough for a Guide, but I also know Chestnuts have somr significant variability. No decal or papers, serial number 26082, thanks for any help!

The narrow decks are indicative of a Cruiser model, which was available in 16', 17' and 18' lengths. The Guide's Special is a Cruiser model with closer rib spacing (built on same form), which this doesn't appear to have. What's the length? The Cruisers are great canoes.

Forgot I posted in a different thread. It’s 18’ long. That’s what I was hoping for, I’ve been lucky enough to paddle some cruisers when I was younger and they we’re always the finest canoes to paddle
