Canadian UFO?

Treewater

Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
Got this in Canada. Don't know the make. 15'9". No canvas (whew). Nicely made. 1.25 " strips. Two sets of numbers on keel..1431, 2651? I'm puzzled about the gunnel marks showing there were hinges once in front of the seat.

Seems to be original seats and decks. Not much damage. Possibly original varnish.

Thanks, 1941-1956? That late? I'd have put it in the 20's. It's in pretty good shape either way. I don't like stripping (unless streaking) but what I've done has been very easy. I'm using stripeaze. I recognize oak gunnels but can't identify the decks, ribs, or planks. 1431 is correct. Second set is 2551.

Post or repeat as anyone cares. I made a $20 donation for Benson's comment and forward to the wood canoe museum online. Worth every penney for the ID and links. I've read the other posts on my Queen and now I know what I'm doing. (well, better than I knew before)
