Canadian Canoe Company

I have a 15 foot cedar canvas canoe, circa 1960 I think. The front stem has a serial number stamped in the old facing up. It is 2221
Any info on this canoe would be most welcome. It belonged to my late father.

There are no known serial number records for the Canadian Canoe Company so there isn't much more information that anyone here can offer. The details at http://dragonflycanoe.com/wood-canoe-identification-guide/canadian-canoe-company/ may help if you have a model number. Nine of their catalogs are available from http://store.wcha.org/The-Canadian-Wood-Canoe-and-Boat-Company-Catalog-Collection-CD-ROM.html including ones from 1958-1962. The book at http://store.wcha.org/The-Canadian-Canoe-Company-by-Ken-Brown.html is currently out of print but may be available from a library or used book store. Good luck,

Benson

If not currently available through the WCHA book store, you'll likely be able to find a copy of Ken Brown's history of the Canadian Canoe Co. through the Canadian Canoe Museum shop - https://shop.canoemuseum.ca/xcart/home.php. While giving you a comprehensive history of the company, it's not likely to be of great help in tracking a particular serial #. You might try asking Dick Persson of Buckhorn Canoe Co. If anyone has insight, he would be a good start. Photos are always helpful.

Thanks for the replies....much appreciated!
I have some photos just trying to figure out how to post them from my iPad.....
