Can anyone help ID this Old Town canoe?

Hello-
I am new here so please excuse any ignorance. Sorry if this is the wrong area to post this.
I have what I believe is a 1920-30 old town canoe. I have read up on this site where to look for a serial # but so far have been unsuccessful in finding one. I would like to know the model, possible year, and whether it is a common or less common model. The canoe is about 17.5' from end to end. I am posting a few pics. I am moving and cannot continue to store it so will be looking to sell it. I also would like to know how to tell if it has been "fiberglassed" versus canvassed. I can see a faint canvas texture on the exterior it in some places. Also it is missing the seats. Any info that would be of help in selling it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,

Alex G

You have a canoe from the E. M. White Canoe Company in Old Town, Maine. See http://www.wcha.org/content/em-white for more details. Yours does appear to have been built in the 1920s - 1930s era but they did not put serial numbers in their canoes during this period so there is no way to be sure. These are not unusually rare. Canvas is soft and fiberglass is hard so tapping it will usually sound distinctly different. The information at http://www.wcha.org/forums/index.php?threads/57/ may help you sell it. Good luck,

Benson
