Build Sheet Request for OT 177401

Curious about Wooden Canoes
We just learned that a close friend has joined the ranks of OT owners via a purchase at a high quality antique store, and we'd like to surprise him with the build sheet information. The canoe's a beaut; even the OT decal is in pristine condition!

Thanks a bunch!
John

The Old Town with serial number 177401 is a 16 foot long Guide model with a keel and wide planking. It was built between December, 1966 and March, 1967. The original color was G. S. (guide's special) green. It shipped on May 24th, 1967 to San Francisco, California. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the thumbnail image attached below.

This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://www.wcha.org/join.php to join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions. Congratulations to your friend,

Benson

Benson,

Thank-you for your time and effort as well as your prompt response. The gentleman this information will be given to will deeply value this kind of information along with his OT canoe. Both are in very good hands, and I'm looking forward to sharing copies of your response and the build sheet with him.

With great appreciation,
John
