Welcome, the Old Town canoe with serial number 140011 is a 16 foot long, CS (common sense or middle) grade, Yankee model with red western cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, number ten canvas, ash decks, ash thwarts, ash seats, and a keel. It was built between May and July, 1944. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It was shipped on August 21st, 1944 to the Minneapolis, Minnesota. The back side of the record shows that there was a previous request for a copy of this information from St. Paul in May, 1978. Scans showing both sides of this build record can be found below.
These scans and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others.
