I made the trip in record time. Upper reaches of Michigans UP. It’s very early and I’m stoked….. probably 1888 Gerrish. Only a stern seat, zero evidence of a bow seat. Needs work but hey!!! Hull is nice and straight. Very round hull, 16’ long.

Certainly a very old Gerrish. I concur the circa date posted. Almost identical to one of mine minus no bow seat. I'm aware of three other similar with the same stern seat construction. Two of the three exhibit this very low shear. Lucky for the canoe it is in very capable hands and will be about perfectly restored, maybe a bit two perfect from when it was constructed. Happy to help out in an way. Nice find in the sticks, really!
