Exciting news about Assembly 2024 at Pall Smith's College, NY: The WCHA's Norumbega Chapter under the leadership of Steve Lapey took the lines from a 14-foot Chestnut "Playmate" (part of the lovely Chestnut pleasure series along with the Chum and the Pal) and constructed a building form. The very first canoe off of the new form is now complete, and will be auctioned at Assembly this summer!
The Norumbega crew, highly skilled at building and restoration, did a masterful job on this sweet little cedar-canvas canoe. Come see it in person and bid to own a piece of WCHA history. This canoe and many other canoes and related items will make for an exciting auction at Assembly 2024, July 16-21. All proceeds from the auction and raffle support the WCHA.
