Bondo problem

Wooden Canoes are in the Blood
Just aquired a canoe that has all the gaps between the planking filled with auto body filler . It's a real mess . Has any one had any success in removal of same ?
Dave, I have two possible solutions for you- 1) use a commercial heat gun (preferably with multiple heat settings) to heat and soften the 'bondo' thenuse an appropriate width hooked scraper to remove the majority of the 'bondo'.*** be careful not to scorch or set on fire your siding. 2) take a hacksaw blade of @ 10 teeth/inch and mount it in a wood handle so that only @ 3/32 or 1/4 inch of the toothed edge is below the wood handle. Slowly and carefully 'saw out' the offending 'bondo'. I have found it best to break the blade in half (@5"long),this way there is less chance of accidently cutting the siding with the excess portion of the tool.I hope this will help.lee...
