50 pound model mast step seat: anyone have a picture?

Enthusiastic about Wooden Canoes
I was thinking of adding a mast step and seat to my 50 pound model old town I am almost complete with.
It is a 15 foot version, what does the mast seat look like? It’s a much wider seat than the HW and Otca mast seat that I have.
Does anyone have some pictures?

Thanks!

The standard Old Town mast seat is shown at http://www.wcha.org/forums/index.php?attachments/1084/ from the 1930 catalog. This will need to be bolted directly up under the rails with no drops to appropriately support a mast. The pictures at http://www.wcha.org/forums/index.php?threads/10672/ and http://www.wcha.org/forums/index.php?threads/9811/ may also help. The book at https://www.woodencanoe.org/product-page/canoe-rig-the-essence-and-the-art is another good source of information.

The light weight construction of the 50 pound model means that you will notice much more hull twist when out in anything more than a light breeze. I sailed a 50 pound model for several years and this twisting always made me nervous. It is dramatically less significant in a canoe with standard construction. Have fun,

Benson
