Enthusiastic about Wooden Canoes
I had the # wrong on my earlier request for the 20' canoe. The #is 22637.
I hope it comes out as a 20 footer.
Thanks, Kevin

The Old Town with serial number 22637 is a 20 foot long, CS (common sense or middle) grade, HW (heavy water) model with red western cedar planking, closed spruce gunwales, maple decks, a keel, a middle thwart, and a painter ring. It was built in June, 1912. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on July 6th, 1912 to Greenville, Maine. The back side of the card shows that it was returned for extensive repairs in May and June of 1917.

Scans showing both sides of this build record can be found by following the links at the thumbnail images attached below. These scans and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/about-the-wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://store.wcha.org/WCHA-New-Membership.html to join.
