1946 Old Town 25' Canoe Value

Hello All,

I'm brand new to this canoe world so I'm looking for some guidance on selling a pair of 1946 Old Town War Canoes. The canoes are from my Grandparents summer camp in Green Lake, WI. They have been garage stored for the last 40 years. They definitely need some cosmetic work but overall the condition is pretty good considering their age. They were repainted in the early 2000s for a Discover Channel shoot that my brother was involved in. My real question is what price point should these canoes be listed at? I can provide picture to any interested parties. Thanks for the advice.

Well, this is a good news and bad news situation as you probably recognize. There weren't many made but very few people want to buy one. These two factors cancelled each other out several years ago when the Northeast Chapter of the WCHA purchased one for about the cost of an ordinary canoe. The information at http://www.wcha.org/forums/index.php?threads/57/ may help. Good luck,

Benson
