LOVES Wooden Canoes
Finally, I a, completing a 1941 Old Town sailing dinghy but am in need of a sail maker - complex sail with rope reinforcement. I suppose because of the weight of the dinghy and the fact that the sail is mounted in the front of the dinghy??? Douglas Fowler has made sails for me before but is backed up for months. Any suggestions or best just to wait?
thanks & have a great day

Douglas Fowler has a great reputation so waiting is a reasonable option. A dinghy sail is not exceptionally complex so you could contact any experienced local sail maker to get a quote and see if they can fit you in sooner. Good luck,

Benson

thanks Benson.
Yes, Douglas Fowler is an extremely good sail maker - well pleased with his work.

thanks Benson.
I ust found a maker. I was ordering stuff from Jerry Stelmok and mentioned the dinghy sail. He pointed me to "Gambrell & Hunter". They are booked until the Spring as was Douglas Fowler but they pointed me to M & H Bartles Sailmakers. Mike, from M & H, said he would squeeze in this "small" sail job:) So, all is good!
thanks
joe
