1915 Old Town Charles River restoration is complete

Douglas Kestell

Lignum Linter Fanaticus
My second canoe restoration is done. It has been quite an adventure, and I’ve learned so much along the way.

THANK YOU to all the people that have answered my barrage of questions, sent photos and have take measurements for me. I am extremely grateful for the support along the way.

Gee that's nice. Just beautiful!

Was the Charles River model made for very long? Looks a lot rounder bottomed than the Yankee that I'm familiar with. And those closed gunwales are perty.

Was the Charles River model made for very long?

The Charles River model was listed in the Old Town catalogs from 1902 to 1929. It was originally called the Robertson model but this was changed in 1903 when the company name was changed from the Robertson and Old Town Canoe company to be just the Old Town Canoe Company. Let me know if this doesn't answer your question.
