The Old Town canoe with serial number 137116 is a 17 foot long, AA grade, Otca model with open mahogany gunwales, mahogany decks, mahogany trim, half ribs, a keel, outside stems, rudder, mast seat, and step for a sailing rig. It was built between February and June, 1943. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on June 8th(?), 1943 to Portland, Oregon. The back side of the card indicates that there was a complaint about the finish received on August 4th, 1943 so they send some new finish materials at no charge on a later order.
Scan of both sides of this build record can be found by following the links behind the attached thumbnail images below. These scans were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. Additional information about the project to preserve these records is available at
http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or contribute to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
