16902

Dave Wermuth

Who hid my paddle?
Would be very grateful for help with the build record. 16902 - 15.
I am reasonably certain of the number but the condition is such that I'm inclined to think it may be 116xxx. the restore was extremely well done, but with pressed cane and diamond head bolts. the decks are curved as opposed to the regularly shaped deck with the sharper corners. Not original but the restoration is clearly professionally done. I saw this canoe 12 or so years ago and I'm guessing that's when the restore was done. It's in the rafters at the moment and I'm really going to try to own this one. I doubt it was used after the restoration.

No photos yet.

Dave,
15' lightweight canoes had curved decks, not the typical old town style, so the decks are likely correct.

Correction

the number was wrong, Now that I have it home I can see it is

169024 15

Thanks. Here's a photo or two.

Dave,

Old Town #169025 was a 15-foot 50-pounder built in 1959 and shipped to Detroit. It had a keel and was originally light green.
