15 ft 188375

Hi Dave,

Old Town 188375 is a 15 foot lightweight model canoe that was finished January-April of 1972. It has a keel and was originally painted LC yellow--- I'm not familiar with "LC" but someone else here may know... "light citrus?"... "lemon crush"? (like orange crush, but lemon?)... anyway, the canoe was shipped to Falls Village, Connecticut, on May 25, 1973. The scan of this record is attached below-- click on it to get a larger image.

This scan and several hundred thousand others were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/ot_records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will join or renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://www.wcha.org/join.php to join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.

Kathy

Yellow

Along the lines of what Greg suggested, I was thinking maybe "lead chromate" yellow, which was probably a vivid yellow and not particularly good for your health if sanding it, eating it etc.

L C Yellow

The 15 light weight is exactly like the 1962 catalogue cover, the one the two hunters are carying up the rock ledge falls. thanks kathy,, Dave
