12' OT Boat

Blue Viking

Wooden Canoe Maniac
Have located an OT wood/Canvas 12' boat in excellent condition but needs to be recanvassed.
The best I can see is the following #.... 193014 12....If the nine is not a straight down stroke it could be an 8 0r a 3 on the second digit or the 9 that I listed above.
Thanks in advance for any help...even has the OT decals on the oars...all original and in excellent condition inside

The Old Town with serial number 193014 is went on a 16 foot long fiberglass Carleton model. The serial number 133014 is on a 15 foot wooden Ojibway model. My guess is that you have serial number 183014. This is a 12 foot long sport boat with half ribs and a keel. It was built between April, 1969 and February, 1971. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on January 17th, 1972 to Kresgeville, Penna. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the thumbnail image attached below.

These scans were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well. Additional information about the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://www.wcha.org/join.html to join.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your boat. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.
