On Earth Day birch bark canoe builder Erik Simula launched his bark canoe into Lake Superior on a 1000 mile paddle that will touch on voyageur routes as it weaves through the Arrowhead Region of Minnesota.

Arrowhead Journey

Been following with interest. Quite an adventure.
Hey Ferd, I caught a northen below Bond Falls on a Pearl Zonker and 5x tippet. Wasn't expecting a pike. He was little guy 24".
Zonkers are now favored over wooly buggers.

A couple of Septembers ago, Amy and I went ricing with Eric through the school in Grand Marais.
What caught my attention with Eric is that he lives off the grid, builds bark canoes and stands ready for when it hits the fan.
