The Old Town canoe with serial number 115368 is a 17 foot long, CS (Common Sense or middle) grade, HW (Heavy Water) model with western red cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, oak decks, oak thwarts, oak seats, a keel, and sponsons. It was built between January, 1935 and July, 1936. The original exterior paint color was burnt orange. It shipped on July 15th, 1936 to Albany, New York.
The Old Town canoe with serial number 87055 is an 18 foot long, AA (or top) grade, Otca model with western red cedar planking, open mahogany gunwales, mahogany decks, mahogany thwarts, mahogany seats, a keel, and sponsons. It was built between February. 1925 and June, 1926. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on July 2nd, 1926 to Niverville, New York.
My guess is that he has the Old Town canoe with serial number 134345. This is a 16 foot long, CS (common sense or middle) grade, HW (heavy water) model with open spruce gunwales, ash decks, ash thwarts, ash seats, a keel, a floor rack, and sponsons. It was built between December, 1941 and April, 1942. The original exterior paint color was similar to the one shown at
http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/design47.gif which was known as the design number 47. It shipped on May 5th, 1942 to Towanda, Pennsylvania.
