The Old Town canoe with serial number 125472 is a 16 foot long, CS (common sense or middle) grade, low end HW model with spruce gunwales, ash decks, ash thwarts, ash seats, a keel, and thwarts in place of seats. It was built in July, 1938. The original exterior paint color was G. S. (Guide's Special) green. It shipped on July 25th, 1938 to Manchester, New Hampshire. The back side of the card indicates that there was a complaint about the paint blistering on August 15th, 1938 and it returned for repairs on April 9th, 1952. Scans showing both sides of this build record can be found below.
These scans and several hundred thousand more were created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well.
