Curious about Wooden Canoes
I was at Home Depot yesterday and saw "Varathane Classic Wood Hardener". I didn't know Varathane made Viagra!
Seriously though, my Allied Aviation Canoe has a bit of punky rot on the top of the stem in front of of the deck. Due to the molded nature of the craft, it looks like it may be difficult to replace so I may go the hardener and wood putty route, then possibly a thin mahogany overlay to hide the "filling" . I had planned to order some Git-Rot, but saw the Varathane product and a couple of other brands at the store. Has anyone used the Varathane or have preferences of one product over the other?
