Wide (likely mahogany) thwarts

Any ideas which builder(s) made these wide thwarts?

The Charles River area builders were known for thwarts like that along with straight ribs and closed gunwales. What do the decks look like and are there any serial numbers on the stems? More pictures could help.

Pat,

This NH canoe has been around a longtime. I honestly think it's a scam as I've seen it posted many times for different prices.

Not sure if it is a scam, but it has been offered before.
That does happen. I have seen quite a few canoes change hands and then come on the market years later after the buyer came to terms with the reality of what can be involved in a restoration. The current price is not insane and hopefully negotiable. If you do go ahead with an offer, be careful. Even with the splices, it has decent potential.

Price down to $800 I keep looking at it too!
If you check it out, definitely look at the inwales under the caps- hidden breaks can be there.

I have too many projects so I’m not going to drive up there anytime soon. If you do go up, the humming bird collective I think has a hostel , or at least they used to. I went to Plymouth State U in the next town over

There has been no response from the owner so I presume the sale of this canoe is no longer viable, or it was a scam as others have suggested. If that changes I will keep this thread informed.
