Here's a challenging question for Peterborough fans:
Peterborough Canoe Co. decals went through a series of variations over the years. Readers may recall the recent Forum discussion at: http://forums.wcha.org/showthread.p...o-decals&highlight=dating+peterborough+decals which illustrates with photos the various iterations. In addition to these regular oval-shaped decals, PCC added special 60th (1939) and 75th (1954) Anniversary decal bars to go along on sample paddles given out at those times - see photos below.
My question: can anyone recall seeing a special additional bar or special decal in honour of the 50th Anniversary? I keep looking, but nothing has turned up that I can place my hands on. However, in the 1929 catalogue, a page therein contained a printed version of a decal-type logo that was altered to note the 50th year. Someone once suggested there may have been a decal with a blue background where there is normally a bright red.
Anyone have any leads?
