Twin Otter logo?

Hello. I just inherited a 16.5 ft. cedar and canvas canoe, with a twin otter logo on the front left side, just below the gunwale. The serial number is 888 22 491. Any help identifying the manufacturer and pedigree would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

That was built by Jeanne Bourquin of Ely, Minnesota.

Jeanne has been building the Atkinson Traveler, and her own design the Otter (16’6”, 60#, 30” wide.) since the early-1980’s. She also builds “Indian” versions that are 12” longer, adding hull speed but not much volume or weight. These are fast, pretty, canoes that track great for wilderness...
