I told you I would someday find my formula. Well I finally did today. This is by units. Whatever unit you care to use. Whether it be a thimble or liters or?
The formula is:2 red mahogany, 2 golden oak, 1 special walnut, 1 sedona red.
All by minwax.
This is for staining the inside of Morris canoes.

Could you tell us more on the origin of this formula? How was it developed? Did you match it from an old canoe?

Also do you know anything more about what Morris used for the pigeon blood or ox blood coloring etc.?

Never doubted you for a minute Denis, we're in the process of moving so I cant find a thing I've gone looking for. Thanks very much, the original finish is intact but likely with even a gentle stripping it will want a recoat of stain to look great.
Looking forward to getting back on line, satellite and internet coming later today (fingers crossed)
