Rice Lake Canoe

Hello,

I have almost finished the restoration of a 1920's Rice Lake Canoe. I need some help concerning the floor boards. In this canoe there were 2 boards, one on either side of the keelsom. I have the brass clips that were used to hold them in place but the boards themselves are long gone. The canoe was rescued from being thrown onto a bon fire so perhaps that is were they ended up. I am hoping that someone can pass on dimensions or photos of the floorboards from a Rice Lake canoe or a Peterborough canoe of the same age.

Thanks for your help in getting this canoe finished.

The 1927 Peterborough catalog at https://woodencanoemuseum.org/index.php/manufacturer-catalog/peterborough-1927 may help. The slat style is shown on page 14 and the solid style is on page 16. There is also a nice Rice Lake catalog available at https://woodencanoemuseum.org/index.php/manufacturer-catalog/rice-lake-canoe-co but I didn't see any pictures of the floor boards. The pictures at http://www.wcha.org/forums/index.php?threads/14008/ and http://www.wcha.org/forums/index.php?threads/7691/ may also help. Good luck,

Benson
