Canoe Nut
Hi

An earlier search of 87247-18 on an Old Town has been revised to search 67247-18 and should come up an OTCA.

Thanks for the help.

Paul

The Old Town canoe with serial number 67247 is an 18 foot long, CS grade, Otca model with Western red cedar planking, open spruce gunwales, twenty inch birch decks, birch trim, and a keel. It was built between October, 1921 and January, 1922. The original exterior paint color was dark green. It shipped on March 13th, 1922 to Chicago, Illinois. A scan of this build record can be found by following the link at the attached thumbnail image below.

This scan was created with substantial grants from the Wooden Canoe Heritage Association (WCHA) and others as you probably know well. A description of the project to preserve these records is available at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ if you want more details. I hope that you will renew your membership to the WCHA so that services like this can continue. See http://www.wcha.org/wcha/ to learn more about the WCHA and http://www.wcha.org/join.html to renew.

It is also possible that you could have another number or manufacturer if this description doesn't match your canoe. Feel free to reply here if you have any other questions.

Cool, we're all set on this one. The question was originally posed by the seller, and after I bought it from him last weekend, I came here, joined the WCHA, and found the thread.

Since I'm newly infected with Canoe-Flu, I'm only just starting to look at all my restoration options, but I'm definitely hooked. Thanks for all your help so far, everyone.
