Curious about Wooden Canoes
My girlfriend and I had the opportunity to take our Chestnut Garry out for our first overnight trip. I purchased the Prospector back in April and we have only taken her out on day trips since. We headed to Indian Lake Islands. The weather did not cooperate. Rain, strong winds and heavy rollers. Not ideal for us but the prospector was right at home. I couldn't believe how secure and efficient our paddling was in these conditions. That alone salvaged the trip. Also impressive was the amount of gear we were able to fit with ease. The Duluth pack's pictured are some of the largest they make and the Chestnut makes them look tiny. My pack basket is no slouch either. Incredible! Can't wait for next weekend's trip.
