Peterborough Champlain, circa '40s steel screws and so on. WRC planked.
I got the idea after seeing your EM White, it looked awesome without all that glossy shine on it:cool:

Then again, gloss is nice too!

Bob,
the new regulations governing paint have seen the overwhelming majority of the old stuff taken off shelves, and i tried in vain at the auto supply stores and so on to get some but they have all gone to waterborne and the like. I was in West Marine and there was a can of Interlux Flattening agent on the shelf - it looked like old stock but perhaps they are not up on the new regs or havent adjusted their displays yet, either way that would be my suggestion. I havent researched it too hard since my search ended quickly....

stembands tonite, paddle tomorrow...

Hi Andre:
Can you provide a source for flattening agent (for me and other interested readers)?

Bob

I bought a 1/2 litre can of "Gelomat" from Dick Persson/Buckhorn Canoe Co. (http://www.buckhorncanoes.com/ )
Dick's website is still under construction after the change in name from Headwaters Canoe Co.

And the instructions on the can are all in German! though there is a website here in French;
http://www.tonkinois.ch/html/gelomat1.html

Dick also sells "Le Tonkinoise" varnish (http://www.tonkinois.ch/html/le_tonkinois_francais.html )
I also bought Dick's last can to try, since he swears by it and it is low-VOC.

It floats - just below falls in Bracebridge with the youngest, overcast but a great afternoon and didnt leak a drop.
