I hope that you can provide the build information on the following:

(1) Old Town Canoe #177441

(2) The canoe has paint scheme Design #4 which can be viewed on this website (White body, bright red and blue border pattern and Emblem - Indian Design). If you know anything about the rarity of this design, I'd be interested.

Thanks,

-Dan

More information about the design number four is available in the Wooden Canoe Journal Issue number 117 from June 1003 and Issue 128 from April 2005. The build record database is described at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/records/ and can provide a rough estimate for the production of some designs. There are fifty one examples of the design number four in this database but that sample is a bit small to be statistically representative. This implies that about 719 examples of this design were produced. The design number four was listed in the catalogs starting in 1924 until 1974 so this works out to about 14 per year. It was the second most popular design after number 37. All of the Old Town designs can be seen at http://www.wcha.org/catalogs/old-town/designs/thumbnal.html for more information. It has been a busy summer so hopefully this information is 'better late than never.'
