135890 was assigned to a 16' HW in CS grade that appears to have been made for a store in Chicago - the build record notes a "VL&A nameplate" (Von Lengerke & Antoine) It had ash seats, decks and thwarts and the finish rails were either "oval" or "wal" (walnut?) A painter ring was installed on the stern. It was shipped to Chicago on 2/1/1943. A copy of the build record is attached.
Thanks Mike!
They are OVAL outwales......of spruce.
All is well here in the northwoods! Colors are spectacular, and the ducks are falling! Work for the winter is trickling in. I pinch myself every morning to see if it is a dream!
