I've been messing around with an online museum app called CatalogIt. For those interested in canoes, the Antique Boat Museum has a current exhibition featuring all of the canoes in their collection. Second best to seeing it firsthand is to visit their CatalogIt page at:

Of course, I also searched, "paddle", "birchbark", "crooked knife", "mocotaugan", etc.

Pretty interesting. Looking forward to when some other big canoe collections get online. Penobscot Marine Museum's collection is on line in a new program, data import leaves a bit to be desired but you get canoes and many many photos of canoes in use. My most accurate results were canoe, exact in advanced search 745 items. If you just type in canoe in basic search you will get another couple of hundred as the search engine seems to pull in canoe like terms.
